Its not only our stretcher bars that are Wunderbars - The wood we use is too !

Here at Wunderbars we source all of our timbers from suppliers that adhere to the UK governments timber procurement policy which requires for all timber products to be from legal and well managed sources. This is demonstrated by such schemes as the Forest Stewardship Council Standard (FSC) or the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC) .

Forests

Forests that are properly and responsibly managed can produce timber indefinitely. By choosing suppliers that supply us certified timbers from such forests, we hope that this will ensure timber for the future. Well managed forests also ensure rights for indiginous people and the local populous.

The Planet

Natural forests are delicate ecosystems which store carbon and contribute to the recycling of water to maintain climate stability and protect biodiversity. Destroying and burning down forests to make way for other uses actively contributes to Co2 emissions. A well managed sustainable forest is however Co2 neutral and maintains a sustainable level of biodiversity

We hope that by choosing these types of suppliers and using these types of wood it will further raise public awareness of protecting our environment and that the public will further demand timber from sustainable sources.
