How to fold canvas corners

Those pesky corners are always cause for conversation when stretching canvas. It seems to be the holy grail amongst canvas stretchers to get good corners, but achieving it is seen as something of a mystery. Hopefully with the following steps we can wipe away the mystery and guide you in the right way to fold your corners. The following 10 steps take you through the process and finish with a great looking box canvas corners, the best corner in our opinion.

	Step 1 First pull over the corner of the canvas towards the centre of the frame
	Step 2 Pinch the fold together. This pinch may need to be adjusted to ensure the lower fold is in line with the corner of the Wunderbars (see step 3)
	Step 3 Fold the bottom of the canvas up. You are looking to make the bottom fold and the corner of the frame as straight as possible to create the corner. If it is not straight then adjust where the pinch is in step 2.
	Step 4 Pull up the fold. again paying attention that the two folds are as straight as possible to create the corner of the canvas
	Step 5 Push the newly created corner fold down onto the top of the frame, moving the side piece of canvas outwards to the side slightly
	Step 6 Flatten the canvas down in preparation to pull the side fold of canvas over. Take the opportunity to check the corner is looking smart.
	Step 7 Pull over the side fold created. Hold this down with your thumb and check again that you are satisfied with your corner.
	Step 8 Lift the fold back up that you created in step 7 and staple down the flat of the canvas, taking particular care not to staple over the corner join on the Wunderbars or too close to the "Step 7" fold. Stapling over the join with prevent the frame from expanding properly on the stretch. This also goes for traditional stretcher bars.
	Step 9 Pull the fold from step 7 back over and staple the other side of the corner, again taking care not to staple over the corner join on the Wunderbars.
	Step 10 Final finish with a staple in the fold, facing along the corner. Again ensure that you do not staple over the corner of the Wunderbars. Thats it you're done !
